The world of Shikigami centers around Yokai and Onmyouji partnering together to protect their shrines and the visitors who come to worship at them. An Onmyouji is an individual who has proven themselves worthy to partner with a Yokai. A Yokai is a supernatural being that represents an element or force of nature. When a Yokai chooses to serve an Onmyouji they gain the title of Shikigami. Though some Onmyouji and Shikigami work for the good of all, others use this powerful bond for personal gain by working as mercenaries, thieves, or assassins for the highest bidder. A delicate balance must be maintained to protect both humans and Yokai in the world of SHIKIGAMI.
