In a world where Big Tech has control over our personal lives and our democracy, voices across the political spectrum are clamoring for reform. Big Tech claims it can regulate itself. Others think Big Tech can't be trusted to make ethical decisions. Is the solution to fight for reform from the inside or work towards structural change from the outside? In this panel, former Google engineer and Stanford Professor Mehran Sahami will speak to three people trying to change Big Tech: Raylene Yung, a tech leader who leverages the innovations of Big Tech in nonprofit and government spaces; and Rumman Chowdhury, an engineer whose job is to enact responsible AI practices at Twitter.
