Environmental Justice: A Youth Movement

With decreasing access to water and aging infrastructure, citizens are losing their access to clean, affordable water. Contaminants such as lead, chemicals, and plastics are leaching our waters without us knowing. Anna Heck, 15-year old teen innovator from The Knowledge Society — the world's leading innovation program for high school students — has developed a novel mechanism using IoT sensors to create the future of smart cities where access to clean water is no longer an issue. Her technology enables citizens to monitor in real-time what is happening with their local water supply and also anticipate any future challenges. Gain insights from a top Gen Z innovator on how municipalities can design more accessible platforms that engage the next generation of (digitally native) citizens.
