Hosted by Camila López, Escarabeo Festival Sustainability Director is Passionate about innovation and sustainable development, a firm believer that humanity is at a historic moment to shape a new global reality in which sustainability is at the heart of every decision at an individual, collective, institutional, cultural, and political levels. Her professional experience lies in sustainable business development and in the design and implementation of sustainable strategies for corporations, events and cultural entities. She recently completed a Master’s Degree in Philosophy in Society, Environment and Sustainability studies at the University of Cape Town in South Africa. The title of her thesis is “Music and arts festivals as a platform for enhancing sustainable development”. Her thesis focuses on the exploration of how contemporary festivals can become creative platforms, that function as laboratories and education centers, for the generation of practices and new ideologies that sow seeds for a cultural change.
