Notre-Dame: Bringing Heritage to New Audiences

After Notre-Dame de Paris closed to the public in 2019, its digital counterpart from Assassin’s Creed Unity embarked on a life of its own outside Ubisoft’s video game. The result of 5000 hours of graphic work, this 3D model was adapted into a VR tour, which became part of a permanent exhibition at the Archeological Crypt of Paris, under the cathedral. More adaptations followed, AR, 360° or CAVE, for varied cultural collaborations. In 2022, the 3D model will return to its roots as the theater of a one-hour location-based VR Escape Game. Players will take on the role of heroic firefighters, battling the flames to save the monument and its treasures from destruction.
