Createch and the Future of Fashion

Creative technologies are bringing a lot of opportunities for the fashion industry — new design and manufacturing tools and techniques are coming into play, consumer experiences (and demands) are changing, and whole new markets and business models are opening up. Think ‘virtual’ fashion for avatars, or made-to-order garments as nothing unusual. This session looks at how new tech and new thinking is creating opportunities for collaborative and globally distributed design practice and how this is changing where and how things are ‘made’ and who the designers are (some are not even human). Under pressure to be greener and fairer, the panel will also look at how these advances can help the fashion industry adapt. Venue: Austin Marriott Downtown, Waller Ballroom DEF
