Our healthcare system has historically been built to serve those who have the most access to care. But when the pandemic hit, it put into harsh perspective how fractured and frail that model is. It forced us to recognize that there are many underserved groups that, previously considered niche, that are in fact huge populations with needs the old healthcare status quo cannot meet. There is no one-size-fits approach that can be successful in healthcare. To serve all people who need care, we need to tackle their population-specific needs.
