Is it Too Late? Climate Change as a Health Crisis

We’ve barely recovered from a global pandemic that shut down much of life as we know it, but the next great health crisis is already on the horizon. As research now proves beyond doubt, the environment — everything from the air we breathe and the water we drink to the conditions in which we live — plays a vital role in determining our health outcomes. As we witness extreme weather events across the globe, such as spiking temperatures, flooding and wildfires, systemic health inequities are exacerbated. Recent studies have shown, communities of color are much more likely to be exposed to harmful environmental factors that are detrimental to health. This panel of physicians, scientists and activists will propose ways to address these environmental threats — before it’s too late.
