Minimal Schlager

Location: The Iron Bear Influenced by Italo Disco, new wave and various sounds picked up in the dive clubs of Berlin, Minimal Schlager keep a pop sensibility with their haunting synth sounds which wouldn’t sound out of place on a David Lynch soundtrack. The Berlin and London based duo (Francisco and Alicia) have been cooking up tracks since they began the project during the pandemic in 2020, and since managed to release a Christmas single with legendary Art Brut frontman Eddie Argos and their own EP Voodoo Eyes, both released on Berlin label Duchess Box Records (Gurr, Sofia Portanet). In 2021, Minimal Schlager was also granted a domestic residency at HELLERAU – European Centre for the Arts by the MusicBoard Berlin. Minimal Schlager have also extended their contract with Duchess Box Records for their debut Album which will be released in 2022.
