Visualizing the Resilience Divide

Venue: 500 E 4th St, Austin, TX 78701, United States Understanding the resilience divide, the vast differences in how different groups within the same community experience a disaster, is more important than ever as climate change intensifies. Those in low income areas suffer longer downtime in a hazard and cannot recover as quickly from disaster. In this session, we will leverage insights from One Concern’s first-of-its-kind resilience visualization platform to uncover and illustrate the resilience divide in the United States. We will invite our Chief Resilience Officer, Craig Fugate (former FEMA Administrator under President Obama), into conversation with youth climate activist, author and founder of Zero Hour, Jamie Margolin (to be confirmed) to discuss how we can move forward with closing the divide and fostering resilience for all.
