Headline session: Is your digital bank profitable? This one is!

This event took place on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at 2:05 PM UTC.

The Big Picture Stage, RAI Digital only banks have experienced meteoric rise in popularity since they emerged in the last decade. And nowhere else is that the case more so than in the UK and Europe, now home to some of the biggest neobanks in the world, including Monzo and Starling. Built on modern technology stacks, these players have managed to acquire customers at pace by delivering seamless and convenient digital experiences. However, while these neobanks have seen their customer base balloon, many have struggled to translate those into income, failing to capitalize on their clear cost-to-serve advantage. But not all. UK-based Starling is one of the few neobanks that has managed to carve out a clear route to profitability. While its peers continue to see their losses mount – Monzo saw its valuation slashed in 2020 – Starling continues to shift toward profitability. Join us in this keynote session, as Straling founder and CEO Anne Boden explains how the startup’s strategy is helping it thrive where its peers are struggling.
