What do we need to build and enable the economy of the Metaverse?

M Pulse Stage, RAI Things we take for granted today - the Internet, payments rails and instruments, regulatory authorities and frameworks, identity schemes and more - have at one time been where the Metaverse is today. Much like the Internet, to function at scale, the Metaverse and its individual worlds will rely on hardware and infrastructure, tools and standards, and regulatory frameworks we are yet to develop. In the future, everyone will be able to build their virtual world that will connect into one interoperable and constantly synsconised Metaverse (a Metaverse of Metaverses). For that to be possible and for individuals to be able to cruise across the virtual worlds like in the real world, we have to develop a trustless framework for exchange of information, assignment of ownership, and enforcement of rights among other things. There are many questions yet to answer even on the top layer of the Metaverse that has to do with user experience, but we have to start with the basics and define the tech stack of the metaverse before we graduate to horizontal threads such as identity, payments rails, communication, risk management, and more. How will the Metaverse be governed? How will the ownership over virtual assets travel from one world into another and manifest itself in the real world? Is blockchain the answer to these questions and will the Metaverse be a world with a decentralized economy?
