Web 2.9: A Case Study Opening Reception

Web 3 sounds great, but we are not in a hurry to get there. Before diving head first into the metaverse, let’s take a breather and linger outside for a while, in Web 2.9, a place between the virtual world and physical reality, where the two spheres are not mutually exclusive but complement each other. Here we explore the possibilities of NFTs other than the purchase of a jpeg with internet money. Can NFTs have real social benefits? What is their relationship with physical works of art? Must NFTs be made with computer? An inconclusive answer to these questions, Herr Gallery is excited to announce Web 2.9: A Case Study, curated by riprap.art, a three-day NFT exhibition in conjunction with NFT.NYC. The exhibition will introduce *Liberty Mural,* a nonprofit NFT project to restore a public mural in New York, developed by the artist Julie Harvey in association with Herr, in addition to new NFT works by Radka Salcmannova and Double NFT Lab accompanied by physical counterparts. Herr would also like to invite fellow artists, working in digital or traditional medium, to submit your work to be featured in the exhibition. Please see detailed instructions on the Open Call page.
