The Web Summit Innovation In Sport Award is the international mark of excellence in the sports business community. It recognises people who have successfully incorporated technology in the pursuit of excellence. The 2022 recipient is two-division boxing champion, Oleksandr Usyk. Oleksandr’s presence in the ring is other-worldly. The Ukrainian boxer has wowed fans in the ring, and moved them thanks to his contributions outside of the sport. Over the past few months, Usyk has been in Ukraine defending the country against Russian aggression. He was on the front lines but was able to leave the country in order to prepare for a rematch with Anthony Joshua. It was a fight he won, further cementing his legacy as a true champion both inside and outside of the ring.
