ZuVillage Georgia. Week 2 X-Risks & Techno-Optimism The track is designed to explore and inform about Global Catastrophic Risks (GCR) and the efforts toward risk mitigation, as well as what the future holds. We will facilitate dialogues, discussions, debates, collaboration, and idea-sharing among researchers, thinkers, and builders from diverse backgrounds. Theme 1: Let's talk risks! The first theme will provide an overview of GCRs and X-risks facing humanity. We will hear from leading researchers and thinkers in the field. We will explore a wide range of global catastrophic risks, including but not limited to pandemics, nuclear warfare, AI, and emerging technologies. We will also have dialogues around the urgency, if at all, of addressing these. This track is for those who are curious about the current efforts in GCRs and X-risk mitigation, ways to contribute, and deepen their understanding of the complex dynamics surrounding GCRs and their implications for humanity. Theme 2: GCRs and crypto/blockchain - is there an overlap? We will explore projects and initiatives leveraging blockchain, crypto, and Web3 technologies to address GCR-adjacent challenges. This thematic will encourage interaction between the GCR/X-risk community and the crypto/blockchain community. We will explore how and if the decentralized tech stack can be utilized to address some GCR challenges. Examples include decentralized AI, deGov for disaster response, and smart contracts for risk sharing insurances. This track is for those interested in one of these communities and who want to explore other possible solution sets
