Finally, for the adventurous, there’s word of an unofficial Desert Rave on the night of May 1. Branded as “Maelstrom,” this event takes crypto partygoers out to the Dubai desert for an all-night rave under the stars. Shuttles typically take attendees from the city to a secret desert camp location. With pounding electronic music, bonfires, and immersive art, it’s an otherworldly way to close out the week. This event is community-organized (reports suggest a collective of NFT and festival groups are behind it) and was open to RSVP on the TOKEN2049 week schedule (TOKEN2049 Week | 28 April - 4 May 2025 | Dubai). Vibe: Burning Man meets crypto – open-air desert dance floor, LED installations, and people in eccentric outfits. Attendees: The younger and wilder crypto crowd – think developers, artists, and crypto nomads who value experience over formalities. Don’t expect suits here!
